Douglas P. Laliberte, D.M.D.
Meet Dr. Doug
Dr. Douglas Laliberte (Dr. Doug) is driven by the amazing results his patients are able to achieve and the looks on their faces after having just had their braces removed. He enjoys working with his hands and loves the challenges that orthodontics presents. Dr. Doug feels fortunate to be an orthodontist because of the relationships he is able to create with his patients, each of which is an interesting and unique individual.
Midcoast Maine offers everything Dr. Doug values, and growing up in Maine, he has always had a great love for this region. He looks forward to creating many beautiful smiles in this community, and for you and your family.
Education and Continuing Education
Dr. Doug grew up in Winslow, Maine in a supportive family who helped him to be very involved in the local community. With a father as a dentist and working in his practice, he always had an interest in dentistry. Dr. Laliberte attended Colby College in Waterville, ME where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Environmental Policy, cum Laude. He continued on to dental school, attending Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, earning his Doctorate of Dental Medicine, Summa cum Laude and gaining entrance into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon national dental honor society. He was also awarded the ADA Foundation Scholarship, two OKU Scholarships, and two awards for ethics and professionalism, among many others.
After completing dental school in 2009, Dr. Doug began practicing dentistry in his home town of Waterville, ME, at the Community Dental Center where he cared for uninsured and under-insured patients in a public health setting. After working for a year in public health and serving the community that he had grown up in, Dr. Doug returned to Tufts University for his residency in orthodontics. He completed his residency in 2012 and is excited to bring the most current and efficient techniques from his research and residency to Midcoast Maine.
Dr. Doug has a strong commitment to continuing education with an emphasis on patient efficiency and modern mechanics that improves his patients’ experience and provides ideal functional and cosmetic outcomes.

In the Community
Dr. Doug’s commitment to the community is evident through his compassionate approach to serving those in need. He has been involved in Bridge Over Troubled Water Volunteer Dental Services, traveled with Cape Cares Dental Mission to Honduras, and volunteered for the Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope and Healing. Dr. Doug is very excited to call Midcoast Maine his home and work with the community wherever he is needed.
Outside the Office
While growing up in Winslow, Dr. Doug gained a love for Maine and the outdoor adventures that the state offers. He was very involved athletically and with service projects throughout his childhood. Most of all he cherishes his fond memories of the weekend trips to Sugarloaf with his family where he learned to ski, ultimately becoming a Maine State Alpine Ski Champion in Giant Slalom in his senior year of high school.
Dr. Doug and his fiancé, Rebecca Groves, DMD, have a miniature Husky named Toby to keep them company at home. They have a passion for the outdoors and enjoy skiing, hiking, photography, maple sugaring, and fishing. They also love anything that gets them out on the water, whether it’s a lake, stream or ocean. The strong sense of community combined with the beautiful backdrop and access to the outdoors is what drew Dr. Doug and Rebecca to this part of the state.
